I was in charge of running the family garage sale last Friday.  The weather wasn&#8217;t the greatest, which I think kept people from coming in the afternoon.  I finished <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.randomhouse.com\/rhpg\/guernsey\/\">The Guersney Literary and Potato Peel Society<\/a><\/em> earlier in the day, so when the customers weren&#8217;t coming I began my journey through the pages of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.samekindofdifferentasme.com\/\">Same Kind of Different as Me<\/a> <\/em>by Ron Hall &amp; Denver Moore with Lynn Vincent.  It is the story of how two men from literally the opposite sides of the track are brought together by God.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-816\" title=\"webDSC_2507edited\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tracishupertphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/webDSC_2507edited.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tracishupertphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/webDSC_2507edited.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.tracishupertphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/webDSC_2507edited-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tracishupertphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/webDSC_2507edited-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tracishupertphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/webDSC_2507edited-460x306.jpg 460w, https:\/\/www.tracishupertphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/webDSC_2507edited-313x208.jpg 313w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When something touches me, I&#8217;ve been known to cry.\u00a0 This books fills 234 and 3\/4 pages.\u00a0 I cried from page 135 through pretty much the rest of the book.\u00a0 Now don&#8217;t let that deter you because you will not be the same after you read this book (and that&#8217;s a good thing).\u00a0 I finished the book on Saturday, and since then I find my mind returning to Ron and Denver.\u00a0 Especially Denver, and his life of modern-day slavery and homelessness.\u00a0 Denver didn&#8217;t even know school existed for him while he grew up in a life of sharecropping in Louisiana during the 50s (that&#8217;s 1950s).\u00a0 The Man, as he called all his masters, made it so he didn&#8217;t know it was even a possibility.\u00a0 I have a feeling this probably stills goes on today in parts of our country.\u00a0 And that makes me&#8230;well, let&#8217;s just say it makes me mad.\u00a0 I wonder if Denver has learned to read and write.\u00a0 If not, it would be an honor to teach him&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Happy reading!<\/p>\n<div class=\"pp-post-sig\">\n<div><a href=\"javascript:void((function(){var%20e=document.createElement('script');e.setAttribute('type','text\/javascript');e.setAttribute('charset','UTF-8');e.setAttribute('src','http:\/\/assets.pinterest.com\/js\/pinmarklet.js?r='+Math.random()*99999999);document.body.appendChild(e)})());\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clickinmoms.com\/cmprodaily\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/pinit.jpg\" alt=\"Pin It\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp-fb-like-btn-wrap\"><div class=\"fb-like\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.tracishupertphotography.com\/blog\/same-kind-of-different-as-me-what-to-read\/\" data-share=\"true\" data-layout=\"standard\" data-width=\"450\" data-show-faces=\"\" data-action=\"like\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My friend, Kelly, let me borrow this book as part of my self-imposed &#8220;I need to read more&#8221; summer program.
